Meet Michael Jaurigue, the heart and soul of Sparky Steps. A true Chicagoan with a lifelong love for animals, Michael co-founded Sparky Steps in 2016 with Laurie Adams, inspired by a beloved family dog, Sparky. While Sparky is no longer with us, his legacy lives on in the compassionate care and community focus that define Sparky Steps.
Michael’s dedication to pet welfare extends beyond sitting services. Sparky Steps is evolving to include not only top-notch care but also educational resources on pet care, wellness, and training tips.
He’s also building an apparel line that celebrates the joy pets bring to our lives, and growing partnerships with local providers to deepen our impact across Chicago.
Our mission stays simple and strong: honor the human-pet bond with expert care, a supportive community, and real advocacy for animal welfare.
