Dog Walking Services Ravenswood
Ravenswood's trusted neighborhood dog walkers
Looking for a reliable dog walker in Ravenswood? Sparky Steps has cared for Chicago's pets since 2016, and Ravenswood is one of our favorite places to walk: a leafy, historic neighborhood of tree-lined streets, grand old homes, and an arts-and-industry corridor unlike anywhere else in the city. We offer dog walking, cat sitting, and pet care from licensed, insured walkers who know these blocks by heart. We also serve neighboring Albany Park, Uptown, and Andersonville.
Where we walk in Ravenswood
Ravenswood was one of Chicago's very first railroad suburbs, and it still has the leafy, residential feel to prove it. We love the quiet, tree-lined blocks of the East Ravenswood Historic District, where Victorian and Queen Anne homes make every walk feel a little like a stroll back in time. For open space, Winnemac Park and its prairie nature trail give dogs room to roam, Chase Park sits right off Clark Street, and Welles Park is an easy walk west in Lincoln Square.
Along the train tracks, the historic Ravenswood corridor has been reborn as Malt Row, a stretch of craft breweries, makers, and galleries where many patios happily welcome a well-behaved dog. With the Brown Line stopping at Damen, Montrose, and Western, and the Metra Ravenswood station right on the corridor, plenty of Ravenswood pet parents commute downtown and count on us for a midday walk. When a pup wants real off-leash time, Montrose Dog Beach in Uptown is a short trip east.

Our passion for Chicago pets
We are dedicated Chicago dog walkers who put safety, love, professionalism, and timeliness first. Sparky Steps was founded in 2016 with a dual mission: to spend our days caring for your pets, and to inspire our community to volunteer and adopt local shelter animals.
We are named after our founder's rescue dog, Sparky, to honor his legacy. He brought so much joy into our lives that we built our careers around animal welfare. Whether we are bundled up through a Midwest winter or out on a sunny stroll down a leafy Ravenswood street, we care for these pets with the same love we gave to Sparky. Cheers bud, we miss you. ❤️

A little Ravenswood history
Ravenswood began in 1868, when a group of investors bought 194 acres of farmland and woods eight miles north of the city and built one of Chicago's first commuter suburbs around the new railroad. Those early tracks are still here, now carrying the Metra and running alongside the historic Ravenswood corridor, where old factories like the landmark Deagan building once made bells and chimes that rang out in theaters and train stations across the country.
Today that same corridor is Malt Row, a craft-beer and arts district that sits right next to some of the prettiest residential streets on the North Side. Ravenswood straddles the Uptown and Lincoln Square community areas, which gives it a little of everything: historic homes, big shade trees, local festivals, and a true neighborhood feel. For us, it adds up to a dog walker's dream, and we feel lucky to log miles here every day. You can learn more from the Greater Ravenswood Chamber of Commerce.
