Tales.Of.Tuck - Sparky Steps - SPARKandBARK INTERVIEWS

We interviewed Kasey from Eastern Kentucky, USA, with her dog Tucker Merle, A.K.A. Tales.Of.Tuck on Instagram!

Tell us about Tucker and where did you meet!

“Tucker is the quirkiest, energetic, loving & compassionate dog. It was actually my senior year of college and I knew my roommate was about to move out, so I wanted to get a dog to make me feel less lonely/afraid to stay by myself. So, randomly one of my Facebook friends posted she had one puppy left in her litter. I quickly messaged her and told her I would take it! The next day I drove home from college to visit the puppy. She had them all in a large kennel where my mom was on one end and my boyfriend & I were on the opposite. All the puppies ran to my mom while one little puppy ran to us with a blue-collar. But it wasn't the puppy I told her I would take - he had a blue-collar. Strangely enough someone backed out and the puppy who ran to us was available. This was a sign. From that night, I knew Tucker chose us. Tucker is like the jock in high school who acts super tough. But is a huge momma’s boy.”

Tell us a story!

" He follows me everywhere. Refuses to go to bed until I do. He always walks closest to the road. Never lets me go outside alone. He somehow always knows when I'm scared, upset, etc. He loves to have a good time and play 24/7 but is down for a movie night/lazy Sunday.”

What do you think it means to be a pet? What is a pet's purpose in this life?

" I read an article once where someone said, “I know why dogs don't live as long as people do” and he said because dogs were put on this earth already knowing how to love unconditionally. Us as humans have to learn that. I think dogs are put in our lives to give us a whole new meaning to the world “love”

What do you think are the most pressing issues that are in the pet industry today?

"I think the most pressing issue is people getting a dog - then their circumstance changes and gives them away or takes them to a shelter. They don't understand. You never know how they will treat your dog once you give them away. They're not just your property. Try and find a new apartment that allows animals, don't move to a new city if you must leave your dog, etc. “

Do you think it's more important to talk about the issues or act on them?

"Both”

Thank you for your response, Tucker sound like an awesome pup!  I hope this will Spark someone to go out and make a difference in an animal’s life. Your pups sound so loved. We truly are so lucky to have doggies in our life.
